At 1:30 a.m., an NAUPD officer initiated a traffic stop at the corner of San Francisco Street and Franklin Avenue where, upon conducting a field sobriety test, one nonstudent was cited and released for driving under the influence. The case remains open pending lab results.
At 4:22 p.m., Flagstaff Police Department (FPD) transferred a call requesting a welfare check to the NAUPD police station. The non-student was located near the corner of Beaver Street and Ellery Avenue and found to be in good health. An escort was provided to a local shelter.
At 6:53 p.m., staff reported fire alarm lights blinking in the South Village Apartments with no accompanying alarm. NAUPD officers responded but did not find any fire, just blinking lights. Fire Life Safety was advised and responded.
At 1:57 p.m., a subject called to report a puncture wound to the leg at the Parking Services building. NAUPD, Flagstaff Fire Department (FFD) and Guardian Medical Transport (GMT) responded and the subject was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center (FMC).
At 10:55 a.m., a subject called to report loud music coming from the Walkup Skydome practice fields. An NAUPD officer responded and the music was turned down.
At 5:01 p.m., staff at the du Bois Center reported another staff member’s hand got stuck in a pasta machine. NAUPD, FFD and GMT responded and the staff member was transported to FMC.
At 9:03 p.m., a passer-by reported a subject walking around with a shopping cart. The subject was contacted at the corner of San Francisco Street and Pine Knoll Ridge and returned the shopping cart to its rightful home.
At 2:04 p.m., a staff member called to report a student who had presumably passed out after falling and hitting their head. NAUPD, FFD and GMT responded and the student was transported to FMC.
At 4:30 p.m., a subject called to report their skateboard rolling under a gated area and needed assistance getting it out. An NAUPD officer responded and assistance was provided.
At 12:03 a.m., an NAUPD officer reported contacting two subjects laying on the ground. The subjects were not in distress and were just attempting to camp. The subjects were informed of the no-camping rule and left to camp elsewhere.
At 7:56 a.m., a staff member at the Performing and Fine Arts building called to report the theft of a paperclip holder. An NAUPD officer responded and the paperclip holder was located.
At 5:11 p.m., a staff member at Cline Library called to report finding marijuana. An NAUPD officer responded and took a report.
At 7:12 p.m., a subject called to request a welfare check on an unaccompanied child at the NAU Bookstore. The nonstudent was found to be in good health and the parents were found nearby.
At 7:45 p.m., an off-duty NAUPD officer requested a welfare check on an intoxicated non-student in the San Francisco Parking Garage. The subject was arrested and booked into Coconino County Detention Facility (CCDF) on an outstanding warrant.
At 12:45 a.m., a student at Reilly Hall reported another student passed out in a hallway. NAUPD, FFD and GMT responded and the student was cited for underage consumption of alcohol and transported to FMC for treatment.
At 9:23 p.m., a staff member at The Suites reported an abandoned vehicle. NAUPD responded and upon a brief investigation discovered the vehicle was reported stolen in New Mexico. The officers impounded the car.
At 10:37 p.m., a staff member reported an intoxicated student at Reilly Hall. FFD and GMT responded but the student refused medical transport, however, five additional students were deferred for underage consumption of alcohol.
At 9:26 p.m., a student reported being in a traffic collision near the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. NAUPD responded and another student was arrested and booked into CCDF for driving under the influence, underaged consumpsion of alcohol and failing to remain on the scene of a collision.
