A review of police activity in Flagstaff and NAU

Feb. 25

At 11:55 a.m., a Wilson Hall RA reported smelling marijuana. NAUPD officers responded and one student was deferred for possession of drug paraphernalia and use of marijuana.

At 6:19 p.m., a subject called to report that someone hit their vehicle and fled the scene. NAUPD responded and took a report.

At 10:13 p.m., a Wilson Hall RA reported a student in possession of a NERF gun. NAUPD responded but the owner was not home.

Feb. 26

At 8:43 a.m., a student reported a sexual assault to the Flagstaff Police Department (FPD). An officer responded, took a report and the investigation is ongoing.

At 2:23 p.m., a Resident Hall Director at South Village Apartments called to report an intoxicated student who had passed out. The student then refused medical transport.

At 8:59 p.m., a Wilson Hall RA reported a subject with a denial of access inside the building. One student was booked into Coconino County Detention Facility (CCDF) for trespassing.

Feb. 27

At 7:09 p.m., an RA at McKay Village reported a gas odor. NAUPD responded and the odor was detected. FFD then determined the area to be safe.

At 11:30 p.m., a passerby reported an intoxicated individual outside Cline Library. FFD responded and the non-student was transferred to FMC.

Feb. 28

At 11:31 a.m., a student reported a vehicle driving on the pedestrian path near the Physical Sciences building. NAUPD responded, but no contact was made.

At 11:34 a.m., staff reported two subjects drinking alcohol outside the Ponderosa Building. NAUPD responded and realized they were the subjects of an earlier call. Both subjects were then given a verbal warning of trespassing on campus.

At 11:54 a.m., an intoxicated subject at Cline Library asked a student to call for assistance. The person was transported to FMC by ambulance.

At 11:03 p.m., staff at the Drury Inn & Suites Flagstaff reported that a vehicle had struck the building. The investigation is ongoing.

March 1

At 2:04 a.m., an officer reported a fight on West Route 66. FFD and Guardian Medical Transport were involved. The scene was then turned over to the FPD.

At 2:34 a.m., a NAUPD officer reported checking on a student at the NAU Bookstore. The student was deferred for minor in consumption of alcohol and for possession of a fictitious license. A public assist ride was also provided for the student.

At 2:36 p.m., a subject reported that someone hit their vehicle and fled the scene. NAUPD responded and took a report. The investigation is currently closed.

At 8:57 p.m., staff at the Drury Inn & Suites Flagstaff reported a non-student causing a disturbance. NAUPD responded and the subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.

March 2

At 1:52 a.m., staff at Allen Hall reported a resident causing a disturbance. NAUPD responded, and the subject was arrested. The subject was booked into CCDF for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, promoting contraband in a correctional facility, disorderly conduct and minor consumption of alcohol.

At 1:58 a.m., a NAUPD officer at the Hilltop Townhomes was waved down and informed of a suicidal student. The student was transported to the Guidance Center for a mandatory health evaluation.

March 3

At 11:35 a.m., a student reported verbal harassment from a professor. NAUPD responded and took a report.

At 6:02 p.m., FPD requested assistance with a subject who shot at a vehicle on South Agassiz Street. Assistance was provided by FPD.

At 9:42 p.m., an RA at the Honors Residential College reported the odor of marijuana. NAUPD responded and the odor was confirmed. However, the suspected room occupants would not comply with NAUPD. RA staff said they would handle the matter further.

At 10:31 p.m., staff at Morton Hall reported an odor of marijuana. NAUPD responded and one student was cited and released for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and minor in possession of alcohol.
