A review of police activity in Flagstaff and NAU

July 1

At 5:59 a.m., a staff member from Babbitt Academic reported a door propped open. NAUPD responded and searched the area. No criminal activity was witnessed.

At 9:19 a.m., a student reported a water flow alarm in the engineering lab. NAUPD and FFD responded and confirmed the alarm to be a mechanical leak.

July 2

At 9:26 a.m., an employee from North Hall reported the theft of a computer. NAUPD responded and took a report.

At 7:33 p.m., a construction worker at the east Skydome practice fields reported a non-student in a fenced-off area. NAUPD responded and warned the subject of trespass.

July 3

At 10:06 a.m., NAUPD was notified about a water flow alarm going off in Cline Library. An officer responded and found that the alarm was cause by maintenance work on the system.

At 12:02 p.m., a student called to report a driver using their cellphone while operating the vehicle. NAUPD responded but could not locate the vehicle.

July 4

At 3:59 p.m., FPD transferred a call to NAUPD regarding a subject on Knoles and DuPont who was possibly in need of medical attention. NAUPD responded and one non-student was booked into jail for aggravated DUI and driving on a suspended license.

July 5

At 8:06 a.m., two NAUPD officers went to check on three possible subjects in the wooden area east of Denny's. Two of the subjects were cited and released for possession of drug paraphernalia. One subject was transported to FMC by GMT for extreme intoxication.

At 8:35 a.m., the Biological Sciences Annex had an intrusion alarm go off. NAUPD responded searches and it was found that a faculty member had accidentally set off the alarm.

July 6

At 12:48 a.m., a non-student called on a blue phone from the Historic Quad requesting assistance with finding a place to sleep. NAUPD responded but the subject left the area prior to their arrival.

July 7

At 2:40 p.m., a subject from Roseberry Apartments called to report someone bleeding from the head. NAUPD responded and the non-student was transported to FMC.

July 8

At 5:32 a.m., a supervisory alarm went off in the Riles Building. NAUPD responded and the area was searched but no cause was found. Fire Life Safety was notified.

At 6:44 p.m., a subject called to report a couple fighting at Hilltop Townhomes. NAUPD responded and one non-student was booked into Coconino County Detention Facility for assault, domestic violence and disorderly conduct. The other non-student was cited and released for minor in possession of alcohol.

July 9

At 2:19 p.m., a coach from a visiting high school called to report one of their students missing. NAUPD responded and took a report. The high school student was found in good health.

July 10

At 12:30 p.m., staff at Parking Services called to report a subject causing a disturbance by yelling at someone over the phone. NAUPD responded but the subject had left. The officer contact the subject by phone to discuss the issues.

July 11

At 9:44 a.m., staff from Facilities called with further information regarding a boat that was reported as stolen. NAUPD responded and the boat was located behind Facilities.

July 13

At 6:15 p.m., NAUPD received a call from a blue phone on the South Fields Complex. An officer responded and searched the area but no criminal activity was witnessed.

July 18

At 12:29 a.m., an officer reported being waived down but subjects who reported to hearing yelling. NAUPD responded and check the area but not criminal activity was witnessed.

July 20

At 7:11 p.m., a staff member from ROTC reported subjects skateboarding off the roof of the ROTC building. NAUPD responded but the subjects were gone on arrival.
