Over the last week, Flagstaff has been experiencing intermittent hail and snow. It has been consistently partly cloudy, with the exception of Saturday which was rather sunny. And of course, the wind has been persistent.

As of Sunday night, the snow has returned. At 9:15 p.m., the temperature stood at 43 degrees Fahrenheit, 38 degree wind chill, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Flagstaff was under wind advisory from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday with sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph and gusts from 40 to 57 mph.

According to the NWS, there is more snow in Flagstaff’s forecast for Monday and into this week. Snowfall after May 26 is statistically uncommon in Flagstaff.

Flagstaff’s average May snowfall is 0.7 inches, but has reached 1.5 inches this year.
