Police Beat Nov. 6-12: Skateboarders and scammers

Nov. 6

At 10:54 a.m., a student called to request assistance with a jump start at Lot 32A. NAUPD responded and assistance was provided.

At 12:30 p.m., a student at Lot 63 called to report the theft of a laptop. NAUPD responded and took a report.

At 3:06 p.m., a non-student called to report an illness at Hilltop Townhomes. NAUPD, Flagstaff Fire Department (FFD) and Guardian Medical Transport responded and a non-student was transported to Flagstaff Medical Center (FMC).

 

Nov. 7

At 9:53 a.m., a student called to report a non-injury traffic collision at Lot 32A. NAUPD responded and a report was taken.

At 11:38 a.m., a student at Sechrist Hall called to report fraud. NAUPD responded and took a report.

At 12:49 p.m., NAUPD issued a warning for driving on the sidewalk outside the John D. Haeger Health and Learning Center (HLC).

At 4:42 p.m., an officer reported facilitating the return of animal property to a student on the pedway path. 

 

Nov. 8

At 1:51 a.m., an officer reported doors propped open at the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome. The area was searched, no criminal activity was witnessed and doors were secured.

At 8:33 a.m., Flagstaff Police Department (FPD) called to request assistance for a domestic violence report at South Kofa Drive. NAUPD responded and assistance was provided.

At 6:55 p.m., a Cline Library employee called to report a trespasser. NAUPD was unable to locate them.

 

Nov. 9

At 12:19 p.m., a student at Wilson Hall called to report an online fraud scheme. NAUPD responded and took a report.

At 5:30 p.m., a Tinsley Hall staff member called NAUPD regarding a late reported sexual assault. NAUPD responded and took a report.

At 8:56 p.m., a student at the HLC called regarding a late reported assault. NAUPD responded and took a report.

 

Nov. 10

At 3:18 a.m., a student reported loud music at McKay Village. An officer responded and restored peace.

At 9:21 a.m., a Cowden Hall employee called to report a surreptitious viewing. An officer responded and took a report.

At 10:47 a.m., a student called to report a verbal disturbance of the peace at Raymond Hall. NAUPD responded, and one student was deferred for disorderly conduct.

At 11:30 a.m., FPD called to request assistance with a funeral escort at West Funeral Drive. NAUPD responded and assistance was provided.

At 5:53 p.m., a student at Roseberry Apartments called to report an animal bite. NAUPD responded and took a report.

At 10:07 p.m., NAUPD received a call about dangerous skateboarding at the Aquatic and Tennis Complex. An officer responded and provided information to the skateboarders.

At 10:46 p.m., University Safety Aides reported witnessing a number of subjects with drug paraphernalia at Knoles Parking Garage. NAUPD responded and the subjects left the area.

 

Nov. 11

At 12:08 a.m., a student called to report a vehicle parked with the passenger door open and hazard lights on. NAUPD responded, no criminal activity was witnessed and no contact was made.

At 8:48 a.m., a student at Mountain View Hall called to report disorderly conduct. Two students were deferred for disorderly conduct fighting and one student was transported to FMC for an injury.

At 10:28 p.m., a student at Hilltop Townhomes reported a verbal argument with their other roommates. NAUPD responded, took a report and the issue will be handled by their community assistant moving forward.

 

Nov. 12

At 12:35 a.m., a student at Allen Hall reported unknown subjects lighting paper decorations on fire. NAUPD responded and took a report.

At 9:46 a.m., a student called to report the theft of a vehicle at the San Francisco Parking Garage. NAUPD responded and the vehicle was located in good condition.

At 2:35 p.m., a McKay Village staff member called to request a welfare check on a student. NAUPD responded and no criminal activity was witnessed.
